1. Introduction

JellyBee ("we", "our", or "us") is an independent game and app development studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile applications, including Boxtype (the "App"), and when you visit our website at jellybee.com.

By downloading or using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact information: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name and email address.
  • In-app purchases: If you make purchases within the App, these transactions are processed entirely by Google Play. JellyBee does not directly collect or store your payment information. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how payment data is handled.

2b. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we and our third-party service providers may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and screen resolution.
  • Usage data: App features used, gameplay statistics, session duration, and in-app events (e.g., levels completed, scores).
  • Crash and performance data: Crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics used to diagnose and fix bugs.
  • Advertising ID: Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / GAID) may be used by our advertising partners to show you relevant ads. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads via your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
  • Approximate location: We may infer a general geographic region (such as country) from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.

2c. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect the following unless explicitly stated otherwise in a specific feature:

  • Precise GPS location
  • Contacts, call logs, or SMS messages
  • Photos, camera, or microphone access
  • Social network data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the App
  • Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and monitor performance
  • Display advertisements (including personalized ads via Google AdMob)
  • Analyze app usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Process in-app purchases via Google Play Billing
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services that may collect data on our behalf. Each service operates under its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase (Analytics & Crash Reporting)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App, and Firebase Crashlytics to receive and analyze crash reports. Firebase may collect device identifiers, app events, and performance data.

Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may use your Advertising ID and other device data to show personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization) or by resetting your Advertising ID.

In-app purchases are handled through Google Play Billing. JellyBee does not store your payment details. All payment processing is governed by Google's terms and policies.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: With third-party providers (as listed above) who assist in operating the App.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of JellyBee, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your data may be transferred as a business asset.

6. Data Retention

We retain analytics and usage data for up to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted or anonymized by our service providers. Support communications are retained for up to 2 years. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@jellybee.com and we will promptly delete such information.

If you are a user under 13, please do not use the App or provide any personal information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Opt-out of personalized ads: Adjust your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads) or reset your Advertising ID.
  • Opt-out of analytics: You can limit ad tracking and analytics collection through your device privacy settings.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice or by other appropriate means. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
